John Bjelland, Chairman & CEO, Director since 2000
John’s experience spans both the entrepreneurial and Fortune 500 spheres. He has held senior executive positions with several software technology start-ups, including Infobionics and CrossWorks. Previously, as VP of Information Technology for Cargill Corporation, he was responsible for all IT strategy, implementation, and systems in 60 countries. John has also held senior executive IT positions at Grand Met, Pillsbury and Cenex, and senior consulting positions at Arthur Andersen and Coopers & Lybrand. John earned Ph.D. and MS degrees in Economics from the University of Utah, and a BS in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.

Carl Bonta, President & COO, Director since 2002
Carl has broad experience including sales and marketing, strategic planning, management consulting, product management and engineering design. Carl has held positions as an Executive Vice President at Aon Corp. where he managed internet based commerce. He was a Director at Data General responsible for their global business intelligence unit. Other experience includes director of product and business development for Pilot Software. At Vality Technology, he was Vice President of product planning and software development. Carl was a co-founder of Cascade Consulting, a management consulting firm. His other experience includes GenRad Corp as a design engineer. Carl holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at M.I.T.

James Bjelland, Director since 2000
Jim was cofounder and CEO of Elec-Trol and Eltec, companies that distribute and sell products and services for factory floor automation. Jim grew teams of 10+, sales to $6 + million, and managed sizeable and lengthy projects for companies like 3M, John Deere, Caterpillar, and Dunn Edwards. Previously Jim was a senior project manager for 3M. He has more than two decades experience in penetrating new markets with novel approaches to computing, especially where IT collides with traditional engineering. Jim received a B.A. in Mathematics from Bethel College and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Mike Brooks, Director since 2000
Mike is currently a venture executive with Chevron’s venture capital group, investing in emerging technology companies and managing a portfolio, including serving on the boards of several US startup companies. Mike is a serial entrepreneur and has been involved in four startups. He invented a successful IT product for manufacturing, co-founded INDX Software, raised capital, built the market, the product, and the early sales, resulting in the successful sale of the company to Siemens. Before that, Mike held senior marketing /technology positions at software companies ObjectAutomation, Wonderware, and Quadrex (nuclear services). He also has years of engineering, IT, automation, and project management experience with Chevron and Exxon. Mike earned a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bradford, England.
Infobionics has signed a strategic investment and development agreement with In-Q-Tel, the independent strategic venture capital fund that identifies innovative technologies to support the mission of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the larger intelligence community.
